Today, I met an American traveler while heading to Tiger's Nest. She wanted a cigarette break at the cafeteria, and since I had time, I joined her.
She had a cool cigarette case and offered me one. I took it and joked about how switching cigarette brands can taste weird. She agreed, saying she only smokes Marlboro Lights.
While we talked and smoked, an Indian tourist showed up out of nowhere looking for a cigarette. I pointed him to the American lady, who gave him one.
She complained that her American Express card didn't work here, though she luckily had some cash. The Indian guy joked that cards work fine in India.
The American traveler told us about her travels — she had visited lots of places in India. The Indian guy had nothing to add, so he suddenly switched topic: “It's an Indian festival day today — Holi — and I'm here at the Paro Festival.”
We laughed our heads off.
